We’re nurses who saw too many people struggle once they got home.

From the ward to the front room.
Stanway Day and Night Care was started by a small group of UK nurses who kept seeing the same problem: people leaving hospital, but not really being looked after once they got home.
Over the years on the wards we watched how loneliness, missed meals, and a slippery rug in the hallway could put someone back in hospital within weeks. We thought we could do something about it — by mixing the practical, day-to-day help families really need (company, cooking, cleaning, a watchful eye) with the experience and judgement that comes from a nursing career.
That’s what we do now. We’re not a hospital service and we’re not a clinic — we’re the people who help your Mum or Dad stay comfortable, safe and happy at home, for as long as that’s the right place for them.
Friendly doesn’t mean informal.
We’re a warm, down-to-earth team — but we run things properly. Here’s what that means in practice.
Fully Insured
We carry comprehensive Public Liability and specialised Home Support insurance — so families have one less thing to worry about.
Nurse-Founded, Companion-Delivered
Our founders and leadership team are qualified Registered Nurses (RGNs and RMNs). The team in your home, day-to-day, are highly trained Support Companions and Care Companions whose work is guided by our professional clinical background and strict non-regulated standards.
Every Team Member is Vetted
Everyone working with us has an Enhanced DBS check, kept up-to-date on the national Update Service. No exceptions.
Professional Background, Kind People
Our leadership’s nursing background means our entire team is thoroughly trained in safeguarding, infection control, and workplace health and safety — the essential standards that keep our clients safe and comfortable in their own homes.
Wondering if we’re the right fit?
We’ll talk through what you need and what we do — honestly, no pressure. If we’re not the right people for the job, we’ll point you to someone who is.
